Weapons - Saber (continued) |
Rather than have a container load of custom weapons made I
decided to experiment by |
using common and inexpensive hose clamps to attach various
blades (actually, whole |
weapons) to a generic staff posing as a handle. I did not
especially wish to damage any of |
the weapons so I considered using something like the image on
the left. There were |
problems with some of the grip areas of the various blades and
even when that could be |
accommodated the force placed on the junction during some of the
movements resulted |
blades flying off to the alarm of bystanders and the
cinematographer. So two or three |
of the hose clamps on the right were used. They are typically
time-consuming to put on |
and take off if one is using a screwdriver. I was not satisfied
with the results using a |
power drill or a socket wrench in place of the screwdriver. |
