Gripping the Lin
Jiao sword: - I do not have especially large hands, but I could
NOT fit enough fingers into the area protected by (and
inside) the guard. So I deduce the blade is not a solitary
weapon to be used with two hands. On the other hand, so as
to speak, it is a fairly heavy blade and has balance problems,
so I am not convinced so far that most people could use a
pair of these weapons.
At a certain point, a sword is just a sword, and the details
don’t matter. It is more important you do the set 1000
times. That said, in a real fight small differences like
being slightly faster or having a lighter weapon or another
inch longer weapon can be the difference between winning and
losing. Fighting with a significantly shorter sword blade
(say 2″ shorter) is probably going to be a lethal
disadvantage. |
