It was really hot outside, especially in full Taoist regalia, so
I was grateful that I was in shadow.
The air still tasted of
smoke, and I had just torn my mask off. The uncovered portions
of my face were already tingling from the air. That blue
background above me is actually the sky - it had been orange or
gray for some time now. I am wearing a Nine-Fold Scarf (
九樑巾 Jiuliang Jin ).

Perfection Daoists wear the Scarf of Original Chaos ( 混元巾
Hunyuan Jin ), while Orthodox Oneness ( 正一 Zhengyi ) Daoists
wear the Nine-Fold Scarf in rituals in order to differentiate
