Since life in Israel never seems to
be simple, it should be no
surprise that there are additional
complexities. Fortunately, Israeli
leadership is abler than most. Of
humanitarian concern is the
availability of health care in the
Gaza Strip after an earthquake
and tsunami. Moving patients to
Israeli hospitals would be a
logistics and security nightmare.
It is not obvious if Israeli ports
are damaged how Israel could
facilitate entry of foreign
medical professionals even if it
wanted to.
