To a large extent, Israeli military
thinking correctly focuses on the
roles of its land and air forces
because of the threats in those
dimensions and because there
are no seaborne military threats
at this time. As we shall show,
any international effort to
rescue and rebuild Israel after an
Eastern Mediterranean tsunami
would need far more logistical
infrastructure than an airlift in
the manner of Berlin 1949 or a
stream of trucks from Damascus
or Amman  could provide.
