Low tidal variance is desirable
for ports and harbors. While
Israel is rich in many things, it
has no tidal bores - where the
incoming tide is so powerful it
can reverse the flow of a river.
To our knowledge, there is no
evidence that Mediterranean
tsunamis have flowed up
westward flowing rivers like the
Kishon or Yarkon. Given the
dismal state of the Kishon river,
perhaps a tsunami scattering all
the toxins and pollutants might
be desirable.

We note in passing that the HIROLA application voiced concern that, given the already bitter contention for the
Jordan River's water, any Palestinian state, among many other challenges,  would be unable to provide clean water
for its citizens.
