My old tai chi chuan patch from a million years ago
As the left palm ascends its path can be said to describe a half-circle like the black shape in the 
lower right area of the patch above. At the same time the right fist is descending in a half-circle
 like the white shape in the upper left area of the patch above. For maximum theatric effect the
left palm should be slightly cupped as in the Iron Palm practice (see the video below) and the
right fist should be closed and inverted (palm up). The right hand's knuckles follow a line from the
base of the left hand's pointer finger to the bottom inside corner.
For the more mystically inclined, this movement has been described as summoning the entities of the
ten directions to bear witness that some serious tai chi chuan is about to go down.
