With apologies to Eugene O'Neill (October 16, 1888 – November 27, 1953). His play, A Long Day's
Journey into Night, was written during 1941 and 1942. The play was published and performed
posthumously in 1956. O'Neill himself won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1936. He won the
Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1920, 1922, and 1928 as well as in 1957 (posthumously) for this play.
