Mozambique has a
land area of 786,380
square kilometers -
about twice the size of
California.
Mozambique will
probably have 23
million people by the
time of this writing.
Less than 40% of
Mozambicans live in
urban areas.
Nevertheless, Maputo
is by far the largest city
with 1.6 million people.
Matola with 670,000 is
the next largest. Both
Maputo Bay and the
city itself have a
number of very
interesting topological
features from a
tsunami's perspective.
