Currently, (1) we lack any detailed data from the early (before late
August 2014) for both the epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the
Congo and for the epidemic troubling western African. Even just cases
and deaths by date would be useful.
		  (2) Nor do we have any data by
subcountry or city - all of our numbers are for countries. (3) it
would be a relief to know that a single strain of the Zaire species of
Ebola is the only one causing havoc. (4) Likewise, we'd be interested
in knowing that there were only the two Ebola epidemics running -
besides AIDS, malaria and the usual endemic suspects. (5) we are
wildly optimistic that the unpublished detail data describes patient
age, gender, health, what drugs might have been taken, clinic used,
laboratory where the tests were done, contacts and outcome. It would
be unfortunate to miss clues about a cure or a vaccine.  (6) we
have considerable concerns that cases and deaths have been severely
under-reported. (7) then there are the days when countries did not
report complete data. As time passes the odds of this missing data
getting found declines. (8) we wish there was a fourth category named
pending for both cases and deaths where there were specimens
undergoing lab analysis. Suspected and probable would then refer to
cases and deaths where no analysis was done.  Contact peterfzoll@yahoo.com
