Room Heaters

We have a different motivation than those who teach in poorly-heated classrooms simultaneously saving money and
toughening students. We are more interested in reducing variables - namely the temperature in summer and winter. The challenge is physics - it is generally reckoned that it takes 10 watts to heat a square foot, so since 30' x 50' is 1,500
square feet one might need 15,000 watts. That's more than most generators can put out - one would be doing well to
spend less than $3,000 for such a device. There would be concerns about the smell of burning fuel and the noise.
Controlling the temperature of a fireplace or, more likely, a woodstove is tough, and one has to cut and haul firewood,
so we would advocate for built-in baseboard heaters - yes, a non-trivial task both financially and logistically.
