Enlarging the area near
the lower left corner of
the image on the
previous page it should
be obvious that
computing what a
tsunami sweeping
south through the
Kattegat into the
various Danish Straits
is not for the faint of
heart. Quite apart from
damage to Kobenhavn
and a lot of other cities
the problem would be
when and where
marine traffic could
flow were there
landslides or large
ships wrecked in the
straits.
Such an event would have international consequences, but that's not Lithuania's primary
problem. We do not expect another Chernobyl nor a lethal pandemic sweeping out of the east.
