Venezuela continues to build 19th century
style telephone lines. I am not sure what these are used for.
We now own more than one cellular phone per person. Perhaps not
all are in use. I assume everyone is talking about the economic
miseries, crime, failing schools and lack of electricity.
How
many of these mobile phones were made in Venezuela by Venezuelans?
More problems: The growth in internet users has been slow.
This is strange to me as many tools for social people like Twitter,
Facebook and email are all free.
It may well be the case that
instead of smart phones that use a sophisticated cellular network or
two to allow anyone to access the entire internet, we have tens of
millions of not very smart phones.
I prefer this conclusion to
us being tens of millions of not very smart Venezuelans.
