most of Australia
would be missed by
any tsunamis
generated by events in
the extreme northwest  
(top left) here. Islands
like New Britain would
bear the full brunt of  
Bismarck Sea waves.
In most other cases,
unless the generating
area is well-shadowed
by islands to the west,
major waves would
strike the Australian
coast in a few hours.
