As noted previously, we are
skeptical of the assertions of
Lebanon's gross domestic
productivity - even if one
assumes the ten billion US $ in
loans will be written off. It
appears that the claimed per
capita GDP for Palestinians in
the West Bank is about $2900 but
we have zero confidence in that
figure or the one given for the
Gaza Strip. Using low quality
econometric data our models
strongly suggest Sun Tzu was
correct once again - everyone
would be doing much better
without the prolonged war. For
example, Israel's per capita GDP
would have been close to $50,000.
