Clothes Dryer |
|
Clotheslines and pulleys and
clothespins, while nostalgic, are not year-round technologies in
the Sierra foothills. Hazards |
are: ash from volcanic eruptions (Mt.
St. Helens, a long time ago), ash and soot from wildfires,
ultraviolet, snow, rain |
and, in our case, amazing amounts of
pollen from nearby very large cedar trees. |
We have no preference or opinion at this
time about gas versus electric except to mention that a gas
dryer would still |
function during a blackout or other
power loss. |

- your needs may vary - make sure the dryer can handle towels
(rugs, if you use them) and silks |
NOTE: we currently do NOT use dryer sheets so silks, among other
objects, can have lots of static cling. Among the brands |
of hypoallergic dryer sheets are (alphabetically): All ®, Arm
and Hammer ®, Bounce ®, Clean People ® Molly's Suds ®, |
Seventh Generation ® and Snuggle ® |

As with the washer and other large appliances, check the widths
of your doorways. The vent needs 6" rear clearance |
