North Dakota - All
employers must have workers’ compensation insurance for all
employees (part-time, full-time, or seasonal) before hiring.
Sole proprietors, partners, and corporate officers have the
option to cover themselves, but can choose not to. The only
workers’ compensation insurance available in North Dakota is
through the state-administered fund. Self-insurance and private
insurance are not permitted - see North Dakota Workforce Safety

Ohio - All employers
with one or more employees must carry workers’ compensation
insurance. Coverage is optional for sole proprietors and
individuals incorporated as a corporation (with no employees).
The only workers’ compensation insurance option in Ohio is
through the state-administered fund. Self-insurance and private
insurance are not permitted - see Ohio Bureau of Workers’

Oklahoma-
All employers, even those with one part-time employee, must
carry workers’ compensation insurance. Sole proprietors, LLCs,
partners, and corporate officers can choose to cover themselves
or be excluded. Purchased from a commercial provider or
Oklahoma’s state-administered fund. Approved businesses may

Oregon - Employers with one or
more employees must carry workers’ compensation insurance. Sole
proprietors can purchase coverage for themselves, but are not
required to. Purchased from a commercial provider or Oregon’s
state-administered fund. Approved businesses may self-insure -
