Prelude #30

Theme: Hexagram:
  G major    Li "clinging"

For formal exhibitions the students will be able to choose color and style of silks. There's much to be said for simple solid colors, especially all white (top). We obviously have a preference for solid colors with silver trim (second from the top). The Shaolin (third from the top) and Taoist outfits (fourth from the top) would likely be reserved for teachers doing sets from those particular arts. Note that a great many tai chi competition performers like the manteau style (the manteau is the filmy silver-black over-garment in the photo of the Taoist style outfit). There are hundreds and probably thousands of different silk styles including gradients of colors, painted and embroidered. We would only be concerned that the uniform photographs well and can be cleaned.
