Prelude #17

Theme: Hexagram:
F major    Sui "joining in obediently"

After a bow and a salute classes start with WuJi style sitting meditation as taught br Grandmaster Cai Songfang. Unless one has very powerful thigh muscles a chair is needed. It is very desirable that the chair be level and stay balanced. For most students, a padded folding chair is fine and a regular chair, perhaps with a seat cushion, is good also. You need your feet to rest flat on something - it need not be the floor (a flat piece of wood will do).  Care should be taken that not only are the thighs parallel to the ground, but the edge of the chair should not press against the backs of the legs.
