KLIPSPRINGER was designed to inform ordinary
citizens of not only seismic events (earthquake and tsunamis) as they happen, but also to make predictions for how current events will influence future seismic events by geographic region and Richter strength. Seismic events are recorded in Universal Time, so the offset (here shown as 7 hours) allows a user to determine his or her relative time. In this case all recent events recorded above Richter 5.0 are obtained and any dated after the last synchronization time (top center) are shown in the grid. |
