See the Tai Chi Chuan page for comments on sword, spear, saber, staff, fan, jo and kwan dao. Shaolin can become an
expensive hobby if one is aggressive about learning weapons. Some estimates: whisk ($25); trident ($70-110); flail ($60);
pu dao ($100-125); cane ($20); hooked swords ($80); 3-section staff ($50); daggers ($25); sai ($40); jo ($7); nunchaku ($12);
halberd ($75 for snake spear; $110 for single moon halberd; $200 for double moon halberd). As no one is an ordained
Shaolin monk we all wear the same clothes as one might for Xing Yi Chuan, Bagua Chuan or Tai Chi Chuan.
If someone just has to have a monk's uniform they are about $90 for top, pants, shoes, socks, sash and mala beads.
